Welcome!

Hello, Greedyredbag, Welcome to Wikipedia!
I hope you like working here and want to continue. If you need help on how to name new articles, look at Naming Conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the Manual of Style. If you need general help, look at Help and the FAQ, and if you can't find your answer there, check the Village pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions). There's still more help at the Tutorial and the Policy Library. Also, don't forget to visit the Community Portal — and if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my New-Users' Talk Page.
Additional tips:
Here are some extra tips to help you get around Wikipedia:
  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills, try the Sandbox.
  • Click on the Edit button on a page, and look at how other editors did what they did.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes, like this: ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Always sign comments on Talk pages, never sign Articles.
  • You might want to add yourself to the New User Log
  • If your first language isn't English, try Wikipedia:Contributing to articles outside your native language
Happy editing!

Yes, I know, it's a bit late, but no-one seems to have noticed you so far.

  • As for Dammit, yes, I can go back and look at that. To be honest, I was taking a shortcut, as the material would have needed copyediting. I'll get back to it. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 18:03, 12 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Where it makes sense to cite sources in the article, you can do it either in a section 'sources', or in one called 'external links'. Generally, though, unless what you're writing about is controversial, you can just quote your sources on the Talk pages, in case other editors need to check them. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 18:30, 12 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • I'm afraid that I couldn't make any sense of your edit summary. Why do you think that the normal rule (that numbers under 100 be spelt out) should be broken here? Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 19:12, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)

  • There are so many exceptions to this rule [1] that I wonder why it's worth one's getting into pxssing contest. Oh well, I guess that's just me. ;-) hydnjo talk 23:37, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I'm not sure that I'm enthusiastic about going at it with Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) about such an obscure subject. If you want to go at it please let me know and I'll give my support. I've been finding that some Users get so hung up on some point that the energy required to alter their POV just isn't worth the trouble. There are better things to do around here. ;-) hydnjo talk 23:50, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)

No problem at all. I still don't understand why vandals think that posting random crap on userpages is funny. Maybe one day they'll all realize that nothing they post lasts more than a few seconds... AmiDaniel (Talk) 23:00, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Urethra chronicles II.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Urethra chronicles II.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 22:56, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Fair use rationale for File:Sum_41-Pieces.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Sum_41-Pieces.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Rockfang (talk) 18:46, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
