Quite a funny little story I heard about Ben Johnson involves a rhyming contest he entered into with Richard Sylvester another poet of the time. Sylvester started off with;

"I, Richard Sylvester, slept with your sister."

Johnson's responce was;

"I Ben Johnson, slept with thy wife."

Sylvester protested that it didn't rhyme to which Johnson replied "Yes, but it's true."
