Gay Icon Project
[edit]In my effort to merge the now-deleted list from the article Gay icon to the Gay icons category, I have added this page to the category. I engaged in this effort as a "human script", adding everyone from the list to the category, bypassing the fact-checking stage. That is what I am relying on you to do. Please check the article Gay icon and make a judgment as to whether this person or group fits the category. By distributing this task from the regular editors of one article to the regular editors of several articles, I believe that the task of fact-checking this information can be expedited. Thank you very much. Philwelch 21:53, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Since when was Martha Reeves ever a Gay Icon? Reeves made several records that were popular within the gay community but Reeves was not emulated by the Gay Community in the manner and to the degree that Diana Ross was.
Wild Night
[edit]I think it would be a good thing to add that her song was used in the soundtrack to the movie "Thelma & Louise". It is a widely popular movie also because of its soudntrack, so, many people will know her song but not who sings it. I found out by accident. Dollvalley 14:26, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
Dancin' in the Streets!
[edit]Should we include that a residential street near downtown Detroit is named after her ("Martha Reeves Drive")? RingtailedFox • Talk • Stalk 17:19, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Public Office
[edit]She may be the only living American music performer ever elected to public office...(the only other one I can think of is the late Sonny Bono). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.230.152.28 (talk) 00:12, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
Word Choice
[edit]The article says: "She was instrumental in getting West Grand Boulevard changed to "Berry Gordy Jr.Boulevard" in 2007." Isn't it more likely that she was vocal about it? Oh well, it made me laugh ... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.201.204.128 (talk) 19:30, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
