Vandalism

[edit]

Please do not vandalise articles, especially not sneakily while reverting other vandalism. By doing so you risk being blocked. --fvw* 03:08, 2005 Jan 4 (UTC)

This looks like vandalism to me. If you've been here long enough to know how to revert, you've been here long enough to know that these kinds of comments are not appropriate. --fvw* 04:40, 2005 Jan 4 (UTC)
Oh, right. I was assuming bad faith, always a mistake. Sorry about that. --fvw* 05:13, 2005 Jan 4 (UTC)
No problem. At any rate, I shall stay away from him if I can (GWB is not my favorite person). I hope this serverstuff clears up soon, because I have to fix vandalism to Gondwana, but unlike earlier today, I cannot even access the history.

--

Ŭalabio 05:58, 2005 Jan 4 (UTC)

History works for Gondwana again and someone already fixed it.

Why did you paste Jakew's talk page into Robert the Bruce's talk page?

[edit]

You pasted the entire contents of User:Jakew's talk page into User:Robert the Bruce's talk page. This is the edit which you made: [1] I'm going to assume that this was an honest mistake, but either way, you have caused some confusion for me, Jakew, and Robert. Specifically, you pasted a message from me to Jakew which led Robert to believe that he'd been temporarily blocked from editing Wikipedia. Please be more careful in the future. Rhobite 04:10, Jan 10, 2005 (UTC)

Firstly, wrote my message in User talk:Jakew and pasted it into user talk:Robert the Bruce. I must have selected all and copy, I suppose. Really, the only thing I can remember clearly is seeing a broken link to user talk:Jakew and fixing it when I pasted it into [user talk:Robert the Bruce]], which I decided not to fix on the copy for Jakew because he will already read that copy on his talk-page.

--

Ŭalabio 04:46, 2005 Jan 10 (UTC)

Fair enough, it makes sense. Thanks for the quick explanation. Rhobite 04:51, Jan 10, 2005 (UTC)
I just finished apologizing to Robert the Bruce.

3RR violation

[edit]

I believe you're mistaken about sexual intercourse - no participant reverted that article more than three times. If you could point me towards the personal attack, I'll take a look, but I really don't feel like wading through another one of your stupid crusades. Rhobite 05:27, Jan 13, 2005 (UTC)

I see that you are technically right about 3RR. A certain someone mixed in a copyedit mixed in with the reversion. That certain someone is getting better about this. If it were just a mere 3RR I would not bother (3RR are a dime a dozen with this one). This one made his usual accusations against me which no longer bother me then, accused a innocent bystander of colluding against him. That upset me and made me contact you (you were the first to come to my mind because you wrote me earlier this week). Here is the accusation against the innocent bystander:

[2]

The big green area is the introduction of the important stuff.

That certain someone made an accusation against Tony Sidaway | Talk who is not involved.

3RR report

[edit]

First off, I apologize for being so slow to respond, I have exams right now, so I haven't been as active on Wikipedia over the past week.

You're right, that looks like a violation of the 3RR. However, I think that Jake tends to try and avoid breaking the 3RR, but was ignorant of the exact wording, so I'm going to let it slide this time. Since he should now know that it means you can't revert the page at all (he may have thought it meant that you can't revert to the same version) more than three times a day, I'll probably block him for you if he violates it again. -Frazzydee| 17:06, 28 Jan 2005 (UTC)

I do not like playing the tattling game. I only reported this because a friend who could not report it asked me to do so. The only other time I reported 3RR was when someone assumed bad faith against a third party and I got indignant and reported the 3RR as well as the personal attack. Afterwards, I realized that I assumed bad faith myself in not trying to explain that the third party was not involved, and the admin judge that the reverts had sufficient differences not to count.
I came to WikiPedia for fun. Before all of this started, I created a large percentage of the articles about palæocontinents. Now, I seem to spend most of my time protecting children from sexual mutilation. I wish that the other side would understand that we do not care which cosmetic surgeries adults get for themselves. We just want the children not disfigured for life on the whims of adults. To quote "Rodney" Glen King:

"¿"Can we get along here? ¿Can we all get along?" -- "Rodney" Glen King

I do not want Jakew punished. I just want this to stop. A simple statement in the articles such as:

We now know that universal circumcision of minors along with universal tonsillectomies, and appendectomies are contraindicated and therefore, like tonsillectomies and appendectomies, doctors should only circumcise minors for valid medical reasons following a diagnosis of pathology confirmed be at least a second opinion.

¿Is that so much to ask? The article can go onto say:

Many adults elect to have themselves circumcised because they believe that a naked glans is more pretty than one with a præpuce.

This seems fair. I just want the children left alone and this stupid fighting to end.

I really do not have anything personally against Jakew. To quote from the episode Balance of Terror from the original series:

"I regret that we meet in this way. You and I are of a kind. In a different reality, I could have called you friend." -- Romulan Commander

Inclusion of Slogans in Wikipedia

[edit]

Hey Walabio! (sorry, don't know what the unicode is for the first letter) Anyway, I noticed your support for a slogan on the VfD and was wondering if you'd like to place your opinion at Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)#Inclusion of Slogans as Separate Articles. So far, everybody (including myself) seems to be in favour of deleting the slogans or merging them with appropriate articles, and it would be nice to hear the other side of the debate (if indeed there is one). Either way, come and weigh in! Thanks for your time. Regards, [[User:Consequencefree|Ardent]] 22:25, 5 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Arbitration Committee ruling

[edit]

The arbcom case against Robert the Bruce has closed. As a result, you are advised to re-read Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy, with particular attention to the idea that NPOV includes all significant points of view regarding any subject on which there is division of opinion. You are expected to improve their editing habits and reminded that any future cases will consider seriously any failure to heed this warning. Please see the final decision for details. -- Grunt 🇪🇺 23:48, 2005 Feb 18 (UTC)

Valabio, not ŭalabio

[edit]

Saluton, Ŭalabio (no, I don't speak Esperanto, I'm just trying to learn it). I noticed you say in your user page that "Ŭalabio is Esperantic for wallaby". The Wikipedia article wallaby links to eo:Valabio instead of eo:Ŭalabio (which redirects to Valabio). Are both forms accepted? If they are, shouldn't you have chosen Valabio instead of Walabio for your username, in order to be able to write it without Unicode?

Thanks for your time. --Fibonacci 03:22, 28 Feb 2005 (UTC)

¡Salutojn!
¿Kiel vi fartas?
Mi skribas esperante espenate ke vi povu kompreni min.  ;-)
Some Esperantists do not like the letter Ŭ at the beginning of syllables because it does not occur in their native languages. If Esperanto follows the path of least denominator when it comes to phonetics, we shall all grunt at each other. I believe that Ŭalabio should be Ŭalabio. ¿Which is a better sentence?:

Washington (Vaŝingtono) estas la ĉefurbo de Usono.

Washington (Ŭaŝingtono) estas la ĉefurbo de Usono.

The second one is better because it gives the correct pronunciation of Washington.

--

— Ŭalabio 01:23, 2005 Mar 1 (UTC)

But Ŭaŝington doesn't have a velar nasal (ŋ, or ng in English), so it's not the correct pronunciation, and since Esperanto doesn't have a velar nasal, it can't give the correct pronounciation. --Prosfilaes 16:51, 18 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Nothing is perfect, but Ŭaŝingtono is closer.

Back from wikiholiday

[edit]

I've recently returned from my wikiholiday and have been catching up on what went on while I was away. I have only recently come across the arbcom ruling banning, thank God, Robert the Bruce. I am sorry that I was not here to offer you advice when you needed it as a participant in the case. I have also noticed that the arbcom asked you to review the NPOV policy. Likewise, I would like you to know that at the first sign of a conflict between yourself and another user you may contact me, regardless of rather I'm on vacation or not, if you desire my help. P.S. Keep up the good work with the geology articles and remember wikilove, wikiquette, and NPOV. :) -JCarriker 23:32, Apr 8, 2005 (UTC)

Mister Pillsbury …

[edit]

… may have been a good physics teacher, but he surely was not an expert on the English language. We're not talking about the nouns "weight" and "mass"! AFAIK, "to mass" means "to form or collect into a mass"! Or do you ask yourself "how much do I mass?" Probably not. You'd ask "how much do I weigh?". I've reverted your edit on Antarctic krill. Lupo 07:47, July 19, 2005 (UTC)

The gram is not a measure force. It is like measuring temperature in meters. Perhaps we can write that adult krill have a mass of two grams. If you insist on vectors, we can write that krill have a weight of 3 millinewtons on the moon or 5 centinewtons on the sun.  ;-) At any rate, I shall not get into an edit war over such a shrimpy issue.  ;-) Please ponder my suggestion about “adult krill have a mass of 2 grams.” The ball is in your court. I shall leave the decision with you.

Pro circumcision POV pushers are attempting to censor wikipedia

[edit]

Thank you for agreeing with proposal to use the term intact rather than uncircumcised in the main circumcision article. Not to sound melodramatic but its become clear that pro circumcision POV pushers are censoring wikipedia uninhibitedly, which can be seen in their attempt to remove the article Aposthia and vandalizing the disambiguation page at uncircumcised to eliminate any other interpretations of the word supported by the dictionary that they feel improves their political agenda. For the sake of intellectual freedom I emplore you to look into these matters and make choice about how you will respond. Thanks again. Sirkumsize 02:36, 17 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Esperanza made less bureaucratic

[edit]

Hello again, I have (unilatterly) taken away the 'assembly' idea, as per my reasons at that edit summary and per Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Charter. I have left the admin general, as some leadership is good. Now, all you have to do is be a member to establish consensus, the whole assembly idea is gone. Also, I have added an advisory committee, of four members, with limited power besides watching over the admin general and making sure he doesn't do anything stupid. Please look at the ammended charter, and I would love a comment. Redwolf24 (talk) 00:33, 21 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Esperanza elections

Hi Walabio: This is a quick note just to let you know that there's an election under way at Esperanza. If you'd like to become a candidate for Administrator General or the Advisory Council, just add your name here by 15 December 2005.

Voting begins at 12:00UTC on 16 December and all Esperanza members are encouraged to join in.

This message was delivered to all Esperanza members. If you do not wish to receive further messages, please contact Flcelloguy. Thank you.

Tumbleweeds bouncing across the mediation page

[edit]

Hi Walabio. As you've doubtless noticed, we don't seem to have an active mediator, and little has now been said for about a month. I don't think that your most recently stated goal is achievable. I accept the fact that we disagree on the issue of circumcision, but I really don't think there's much point in trying to change each others' views. What concerns me is that we'll waste an enormous amount of both our time and that of a mediator in going over the whole circumcision debate ad infinitum. It seems to me that our time would be better spent working on the encyclopaedia. I don't particularly like leaving loose ends, so how would you feel about closing the mediation with an agreement to disagree?

I'll understand if you reject this suggestion, but please give it some thought. Jakew 13:49, 15 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

News from Esperanza

[edit]

Hello, fellow Esperanzians! This is just a friendly reminder that elections for Administrator General and two advisory council positions have just begun. Voting will last until Friday, December 30, so make sure you exercise your right to vote! Also, I'm pleased to announce the creation of the Esperanza mailing list. I urge all members to join; see Wikipedia:Esperanza/Contact for more information. All you need to do is email me and I will activate your account. This will be a great way to relax, stay in touch, and hear important announcements. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?)

An Esperanzial note

[edit]

As I remember, the last spam that was handed out was on the 20th of December last year, so I think it's time for another update. First and foremost, the new Advisory Council and Administrator General have been elected. They consist of myself as Admin General and FireFox, Titoxd, Flcelloguy and Karmafist as the Advisory Council. We as a group met formally for the first time on the 31st of Decembe. The minutes of this meeting can be found at WP:ESP/ACM. The next one is planned for tonight (Sunday 29 January) at 20:30 UTC and the agenda can be found at WP:ESP/ACM2.

In other news, Karmafist has set up a discussion about a new personal attack policy, which it can be found here. Other new pages include an introductory page on what to do when you sign up, So you've joined Esperanza... and a welcome template: {{EA-welcome}} (courtesy of Bratsche). Some of our old hands may like to make sure they do everything on the list as well ;) Additionally, the userpage award program proposal has become official is operational: see Wikipedia:Esperanza/User Page Award to nominate a userpage or volunteer as a judge. Also see the proposed programs page for many new proposals and old ones that need more discussion ;)

Other than that, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and wish you an Esperanzially good new WikiYear :D Thank you! --Celestianpower háblame 16:57, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Another Esperanzial note...

[edit]

Hi again Esperanzians! Well, since our last frolic in the realms of news, the Advisory Council has met twice more (see WP:ESP/ACM2 and WP:ESP/ACM3). As a result, the charter has been ammended twice (see here for details) and all of the shortcuts have been standardised (see the summary for more details). Also of note is the Valentines ball that will take place in the Esperanza IRC channel on the 14th of February (tomorrow). It will start at 6pm UTC and go on until everyone's had enough! I hope to see you all there! Also, the spamlist has been dissolved - all Esperanzians will now recieve this update "newsletter".

The other major notice I need to tell you about is the upcoming Esperanza Advisory Council Elections. These will take place from 12:00 UTC on February 20th to 11:59 UTC on February 27th. The official handing-over will take place the following day. Candidates are able to volunteer any time before the 20th, so long as they are already listed on the members list. Anyone currently listed on the memberlist can vote. In a change since last time, if you have already been a member of the leadership, you may run again. Due to the neutrality precident, I will not vote for anyone.

Yours, as ever, Esperanzially,

Heres a grand Idea

[edit]

Why dont you tell me what in the hell you are talking about when you say my articles are nonsense. what articles are you referring to? ALL of my articles have ben of the highest caliber, and I havent even posted anything in months, and then you come in acting all high and mighty, and correcting me for something or other for who knows what reason. I have some advice for you, if you are taking some kind of drugs, you need to quit. I have seen first hand the danger that they can cause. You are making yourself look foolish. VERY FOOLISH!!!

I shall assume that you are PickelBarrel because I wrote to me shortly after I left a message for him. If you are not, I apologize.
Someone on Sho.Com claimed to be Pickelbarrel and vandalize WikiPedia.Org. I merely left a not on the talkpage of Pickelbarrel explaining that WikiPedia.Org is a serious project and pointing him to Unencyclopedia.Org as a place for not true contributions. If none of this applies to you, I apologize. If Jaker lied to me about being you, you can complain to Sho.Com anf get him banned for impersonating you.
I apologize for the inconvenience.

I already apologized for taking The word of Jaker at facevalue that he is you. I already ready explained that you should complain to Showtime, a televionnetwork, about Jaker impersonating you and get him banned for such unethical behavior.
I openly admit that I has in the wrong to assume that you and Jaker are the same person. I apologized for that. I have at all points been polite to you. I would appreciate the same courtesy.

Naturally you should remain civil even under this kind of provocation, but I've no reason to doubt that you are civil at all times. --Tony Sidaway 02:16, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

¡Thanks!
Long time, no see. I have spent much of my time lately dealing with personal problems in the real world and on my oun intactivistic wiki.
Eloquence hosts it for me via Myoo.De. Unfortunately, this leaves every little time for WikiPedia.Org. Indeed, this unpleasant business has lead to more time on WikiPedia.Org than I have spent in weeks.
I could have removed them myself, but I left them there for the moderator to see. Until I lost patience with the user, I did remove them myself. Indeed, the anonymous IP earlier had penis pictures up too, but that was before I lost patience trying to engage the user and removed them myself.
I look forward to editing with you again in the future.

I look forward to editing here again when I have the time. I am sorry that I have been so busy lately. It is strange that you mention that we sometimes do not see eye-to-eye because I do not remember ever disagreeing with you.
I am sorry about this nasty business. It all started when A user called Jaker on Sho.Com claimed to vandalize WikiPedia.Org under the name Pickelbarrel. I dropped a note to Pickelbarrel explaining to Pickelbarrel that WikiPedia.Org is a serious project and that UnEncyclopepdia.Org is for humorous articles. I admit that I was wrong to take the word of Jaker on facevalue. I should have stated that someone named Jaker claims to be he and then stated that if it is true, then WikiPedia.Org is not the place while UnEncyclopedia.Org is. That is when the anonymous attacks started. I tried to apologize and engage in polite discourse, to no avail.
That is how we got here.
¡Thanks!

Thanks for uploading File:Theme_And_Variation_Of_Related_Women.Jpeg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
