Re: Cab car The term cab car is very specific in North American railroad parlance. It is a passenger carriage with a locomotive type cab and lights , bell, etc. and is completely compatable as a passenger carriage. (See pictures in cab car article.) For example, It is different than DMU or EMU vehicles that are superficially similar to cab cars. Also Acela power cars are different. I agree there should be an "article about cab cars around the world" but I think it should be in its own article. The current page refers specifically to the North American vehicle known as a cab car. Perhapse it should be moved to Cab Cars in North America. The proposed 'Cab Cars around the world' article could then provide "a single, consistent page that describes driving vehicles on push-pull trains around the world."

Transilien Paris – Saint-Lazare
[edit]Hi Bz2, i am surprised at the creationg of the article Transilien Paris – Saint-Lazare when there is no such thing as Transilien Paris – Saint-Lazare. There only exist one branding which is Transilien. The services departing St Lazare are operated under the brand name Transilien but do not form Transilien Paris – Saint-Lazare but form Réseau Saint-Lazare. Source: SNCF.com and transilien.com. If you can't verify your recent I will revert your changes to both the Saint Lazare and Transilien Saint Lazare articles. Captain Scarlet
- I noticed that the official Transilien page doesn't mention the zoning the way wikipedia does, but it looked really stupid to have links to nonexistant pages on lots of high-profile Paris Métro pages, so I just created the pages that were being linked to.
- It'd be good to have pages on the individual Transilien routes, though. Maybe we can find a naming scheme for the pages that will satisfy everyone? As it is, the La Défense line already has an annoyingly different page name for some reason... bz2 14:09, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hiya, unfortunately i don't approve of individual, innaccurate and false scheme namings. I messaged you as i did notice that there is a wave of users who probably don't know the field as much as they might have to do warrant some changes. Now this is by no means a dig at you. I would personaly favour the creation of articles called Réseau <name of network> as it is the official naming. Transilien should ideally only be used to name the brand that the SNCF uses to operate the services, not the lines no the rolling stock or even the staff. I have for now at least recopied the area of operation for Saint Lazare in its main article as it directly concerns the station itself, i haven't yet touched Transilien Saint Lazare (sorry, but who on earth started linking to that...). What do you recon ? Captain scarlet 14:20, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- That's basically what I suggested. The official page mentions:
- Réseau Paris Montparnasse
- Réseau Paris Lyon
- Réseau Paris Nord
- Réseau Paris Est
- Réseau Paris Saint-Lazare
- Ligne "La Défense - La Verrière"
- It's easy enough to move the existing articles there, and the majority of the links is via the infobox template anyway. I've noticed that there's quite a few articles referring to the lines in many different ways, but that's something to worry about later. I'd moved the individual lines off the Saint-Lazare page as it is custom not to duplicate that kind of information... bz2 14:34, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- That's basically what I suggested. The official page mentions:
- Excellent, I'll look for the official naming of the réseaux (eg: if its réseau paris saint lazare or simply saint lazare). La Défense - La Verrière is on the Réseau St Lazare not in its own. I do not know on which network Issy - La Défense tramway is though, i'll look into that (there must have been changes when the SNCF / RATP changeover happened). Once that is done it will be possible to seperate operations and building history :). Regards, Captain scarlet 14:46, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
Heyup Bz2. I have found what i was looking for and from I've seen so far, SNCF calls the networks; Réseau Est, Réseau Nord, Réseau Saint Lazare, Réseau Montparnasse and Réseau Gare de Lyon. We (or the community as a whole) could expand that and have all French Réseaux covered. Regards, Captain scarlet 15:06, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- Bugger, that means I've just moved them to the wrong thing. I'll move them to the right location later, and that will mean changing the existing redirects (and the template). At least the Réseaux are now listed. bz2 15:10, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hahaha, it's so not funny it's funny... Lots of work to come, but I'm happy to work on the redirects when i get back home from work. I have also edited out data out of La Defense-La Verrier following our discussion, the article is now redirect to Réseau Paris Saint-Lazare (soon to be Réseau Saint-Lazare). I will also try and remove as many double redirects following this latest change. regards, Captain scarlet 15:40, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
Paris Infobox
[edit]Hi, I've just read your message. I would like to thank you first for your work on Paris public transport infoboxes. Actually, I'm the one who initially created the dump you've replaced. Well, the thing is that I made firstly the infobox for Paris metro lines, and I didn't see the need to create a single infobox only for the general metro page, so I just copied it partially. Afterwards, it turned out that I added the RER, and other users have added nearly all the public transports of the region, which in the end created a lot of similar tables. Anyway, I'm glad you've cleaned up the mess it turned out to be, it looks really better now. I'll try to take a picture of the RER sign above RER stations so that we could put it to illustrate the RER page. By the way, as far as I know, all the page were the dump has been pasted have been switched to your infobox. Best Regards. Metropolitan 18:10 22 March 2006 (CET).
- 'afternoon ! I have a photo of the RER sign and would be glad to upload it. Tell me what size you want it to be and it'll be up tonight. I have also updated the infobox template with the updated réseau articles. Captain Scarlet 17:37 22 March 2006 (GMT)
The Irish Question
[edit]You may be aware that there has recently been a dispute about whether the {{British TOCs}} template should include Northern Irish train operators. In order to gain consensus and move forward there is currently a discussion about whether the scope of the template should be Great Britain or the United Kingdom. You have previously commented on this tempate but have not yet made any remarks in the latest discussion. If you would like to express your opinion please do so at Template talk:British TOCs#The Irish Question - What is the scope of this template?. Thryduulf 21:50, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Compass Tours
[edit]I have nominated Compass Tours, an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Compass Tours (2nd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. -- JediLofty Talk to meFollow me 16:22, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
Consensus
[edit]Hello. I know you've offered some comments at Talk:HP (disambiguation), but the conservation regarding the fate of hp belongs on its talk page. Will you please weigh in there and reconsider your stance. I think WP:REDIRECT indicates the page should redirect to the dab, since redirects are used to accommodate miscapitalizations. —Eustress talk 16:08, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
