Merger proposal

[edit]

I propose to merge Starrcade (2018) into Starrcade. Just like the 2017 event, the 2018 event was no different with the one exception that some of it aired on the WWE Network as a one-hour special. Despite that one difference, the article can be summed up here in a paragraph just how the 2017 event was. --JDC808 10:21, 16 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree: The event was aired on the WWE Network as a special event, it has a good amount of coverage (almost 30 sources) and is a fairly length page. There is no need to merge when this page is just fine. MarioFan78 (talk) 18:31, 18 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: And I quote: "Just like the 2017 event, the 2018 event was no different with the one exception that some of it aired on the WWE Network as a one-hour special." Just because a portion of it (not even the whole event) aired on the Network doesn't mean it automatically gets a dedicated Wikipedia article. In terms of coverage, nearly half of those sources are for the storylines which weren't even really for this event; they were for TLC, as sourced there (the sources for the storylines were actually pulled from the TLC article). Some of the sources are already used on this article. There's only about 10 sources for the 2018 event article (some of which are primary) that are actually useful and could be retained in a merger. --JDC808 20:01, 18 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: I still disagree MarioFan78 (talk) 18:11, 19 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Please explain. Refute why the points I made are wrong. --JDC808 11:07, 20 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: A lot of coverage? Really? I haven't seen much beyond what's already sourced, which actually isn't much (and what I have seen are from sources the project currently considers unreliable). And first of its kind? In what way? --JDC808 11:07, 20 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The taped to air house shows. There are plenty of RS out there discussing this topic in depth - Galatz גאליץשיחה Talk 13:57, 20 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That's barely anything special. And how in depth can they actually get on this show? Please amuse me, because I'm honestly curious on how in depth they can get for a one-hour, non-canon show that meant barely anything in the grand scheme of things WWE (other than possibly increased Network subscriptions and maybe more tickets sold). Now if there was reputable facts that this event did in fact increase those and actually did something for the company, than I could see the necessity for this article, but in its current state, regardless of how many RS's there are, it's just unnecessary (honestly, my biggest gripe is the storylines section, which you haven't followed up to my last response there on). --JDC808 14:53, 20 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Here is a link to Google News that will show everything prior to the date of the event [1]. Also I was offline for most of 2+ weeks due to traveling, so I am very behind in everything on wikipedia, so I probably haven't seen whatever commend you are referring to. - Galatz גאליץשיחה Talk 16:23, 20 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Most of those articles are saying the same things and add little to nothing in their own respective coverage. --JDC808 07:44, 24 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
