Basilisk arisen
[edit]Since Basilisk has been bought by a new development team & released 3 versions, is it time to remove its discontinued label & update its developer name, the latest version, & date? Basilisk's link leads to Pale Moon's article. There, Basilisk has a section & it's website is under External links. 2600:1702:3790:1520:54F4:2D4F:FE0D:1857 (talk) 22:14, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
- Even though Basilisk is no longer discontinued, it is only in beta, maybe for a long time or permanently. Its website says "Basilisk is development software. This means that it should be considered more or less "beta" at all times". 99.7.207.171 (talk) 17:22, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
Browser engines on iOS
[edit]The Browser Engines on iOS should be WebKit I think. I dont know what would make up a good source for this though. Tedzards509 (talk) 22:50, 24 September 2023 (UTC)

Apple planning to abandon JPEG 2000 in Safari 18
[edit]According to the French technology news website MacGeneration, Apple is officially planning to remove JPEG 2000 in Safari 18. This marks the official end of JPEG 2000 in web browsers as far as we know. Even the official WebKit blog and devloper notes of Safari 18 has stated that support for JPEG 2000 has been removed, right when WWDC 2024 was happening. Hopefully these sources can be helpful for updating the Image format support section of this page. https://www.macg.co/logiciels/2024/06/safari-18-abandonne-le-jpeg-2000-144235 https://www.webkit.org/blog/15443/news-from-wwdc24-webkit-in-safari-18-beta/ https://developer.apple.com/documentation/safari-release-notes/safari-18-release-notes DeveloperPudú (talk) 02:35, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
