The result of the debate was
Notion - shortest stub ever.. Is this a bug: [1]? It shouldn't be possible to empty an article... --Edcolins 20:33, Sep 17, 2004 (UTC)
- Delete - Not a bug, just blanking an article. Page history still exists. - Tεxτurε 20:39, 17 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- What's the point of allowing an article to be blanked in such a way? It can only can from vandalism or from a edit mishap.. --Edcolins 20:47, Sep 17, 2004 (UTC)
- What is your suggested solution? Deletion? You'd lose page history. As for vandalism blank is better than some of the graffiti I've seen. Preventing them from blanking only gives them a canvas for worse. - Tεxτurε 20:50, 17 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- It might be desirable to automatically tag an article with the template "vfd" (with an appropriate automatic edit on the Votes for Deletion page) or "substub" (maybe better) or alternatively another tag so that the list of empty articles can be easily retrieved (if it doesn't already exist). I believe it is really a (rare? or not-so-rare?) case where something automatic should be done.. --Edcolins 20:59, Sep 17, 2004 (UTC)
- There is Wikipedia:List_of_blank_pages which is automatically generated every so often. DopefishJustin (・∀・) 15:04, Sep 22, 2004 (UTC)

- I restored the original redirect. It removed the VfD tag, but I don't see any problems with that (post it on Redirects for deletion, if you really want) Darksun 22:42, 17 Sep 2004 (UTC)
This page is now preserved as an archive of the debate and, like some other VfD subpages, is no longer 'live'. Subsequent comments on the issue, the deletion, or the decision-making process should be placed on the relevant 'live' pages. Please do not edit this page.
