Things to note:
[edit]- Usually the taxobox heading is the common name of the family—in this case, "Cormorants"— in bold type. Note the plural. The article title, however, should always be in the singular.
- If there is no suitable common name, use the scientific name instead.
- Genera can be listed by name; if more than 5-10 genera exist, use subfamilies if these have articles already. Otherwise give the approximate number of genera ("About one dozen" for example). If a systematics section exists in the article, you can list the genera or subfamilies alphabetically. Otherwise, use a taxonomic list.
- Watch out for taxonomic issues. It's a minefield out there!
