Dasrmariñas City
[edit]It seems that Cavite already has four cities with Dasmariñas City being recently promoted to cityhood from being a municipality, although I cannot find any authoritative source on the Internet. —seav
It's either been promoted, or is being promoted. I couldn't find any authoritative source either. Would asking City Hall next time I'm there be considered Original Research? :) --Sdfisher 03:42, 12 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- If Dasmariñas is a city, then that means that there is a Republic Act that was signed into law. I don't think that mentioning the RA as the authoritative source is considered original research. :) --seav 05:08, 13 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- Okay, next time I'm there I'll see if I can find out. After asking some folks living there I suspect it's still in process, though. If the process was complete, I'm sure every resident of Dasmariñas would remember having a party to celebrate it -- although most of them would probably be hazy on the details of the party! It would be that kind of party. :) --Sdfisher 18:51, 13 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- It would appear to not be in progress yet, and is meeting some opposition due to an associated hike in taxes. --Steven Fisher 01:28, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Dasrmariñas is still a first class municipality in Cavite. Its approval for cityhood is still pending in the Senate. --Kabite 24 Aug 2006
- That's true! I'm a resident of that place. But now I think it was actually denied because the plebiscite did not reach much popularity. -- Felipe Aira 12:09, 27 November 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Felipe Aira (talk • contribs)
Cavite Naval Base
[edit]Cavite Naval Base is called Sangley Point Naval Base... and is still open. How should the article be corrected? --Sdfisher 03:18, 10 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Capital City
[edit]People I edited the capital part but in the process, i ruined the infobox. Thanks 2 all the pplz who edited it. I think trece Martirez IS the capital of Cavite, since politicians and the Cavitenos (myself included) consider it as capital. --Justox Dizaola
I feel that we must revert this thing, changing the capital city of Cavite to Imus, is realy not true. Thanks and regards to our fellow cavitenos there Justox dizaola 11:20, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
- My map, which seems pretty updated and reliable, says the capital of Cavite Is Trece Martirez. That's good enough for me. I've reverted the article. Coffee 11:28, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
There is someone who reverted the article back to Imus. I wish to ask anyone who thinks that Imus is the capital show me proof Justox dizaola 03:45, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
- Well, the official website of the provincial government of cavite says that Imus is the capital and declared as that via PD1163. Is there a more recent law that places Trece Martires (s, not z) as the capital? --seav 19:04, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
I'll ask a Caviteno about this tomorrow. --Howard the Duck 14:14, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Gen. Mariano Alvarez, Cavite.jpg
[edit]Image:Gen. Mariano Alvarez, Cavite.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
