Hey was this guy of albanian origin?

Yes but I believe it was on his mothers side. He was rather aware of it however as he sent out expedition to Albania to checkup on the place and even sent some aid.

He is Albanian, not of Albanian origins. The Albani family was founded by two brothers that served under the legendary command of Scanderbeg whom history has written around 1000 books about his exploits against the most powerful empire in the world, the Ottoman. The Albani family had many cardinals in Rome prior te the election of the Pope. Their herladic symbol is pretty much the same as that of the Scanderbeg's double-headed eagle, which confirms that that symbol has nothing to do with the byzantine empire but has much more profound roots. These are the popes with Illyrian-albanian origins.

Saint Pius I (140-155) 10th pope in history - born in Aquilea - Dalmatia

Saint Eleutherius Lefteri (175-189) - born in Nikopolis-Preveza Epirus

Saint Gauis (Caius) (283-296) - there's a legend that he was very close to the emperor Diocletian which was Illyrian

John IV (640-642) - from Dalmatia

Clement XI (1700-1721) or with the name John Francesco Albani

Clement XII (1730-1740) He is the one that is Albanian from the mother side - his name is Lorenzo Corsini| his forefathes were soldiers under Scanderbeg's command as well, and the family itself, Corsini is one of the most noble families in Italy. He plaid a key role in the development of western literature in Albania which was still under ottoman empire.

 Fixed and referenced that he came from an Albanian family.--Sulmues Let's talk 20:17, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding "his election came only weeks after his ordination as priest and a month after he celebrated his first Mass"

[edit]

The change to "his election came within three months after his ordination as priest and within two months after he celebrated his first Mass" gives an easier insight into the beginning of the paragraph "Unusually, from the viewpoint of current practice," as the mixing of approximations of weeks and months is unnecessary to show how unique his election was with regard to current practice. Also, the implication of "only . . . a month" is inaccurate as the actual duration was greater than a month.

It is a simple case of reading/seeing :

3-2-1

within a cogent context rather than :

x = y/7 (where x > 1), x = y/(28,29,30, or 31; and where x > 1, yet x is irrational), x = date of election

which defies logic. - Exodus2320 (talk) 10:44, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't the article highlight that he gets the same harsh comment as such as "impossible to reason with" & "incredible and ridiculous" among other equally dismissal comment? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 14.192.210.125 (talk) 15:03, 9 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
