[edit]I am a very bad boy. I redirected the articles for the 1985, 2002 and 2004 conventions/elections without really knowing how to do it properly. (I blame the info provided at the community protal that tells you how to redirect without telling you that you really should "move" the article in order to protect the history.) As a consequence, it appear that I created these articles on February 2, 2004 with lots of lovely text. In fact, these were collaborative efforts by several people. I did create the original of the 1985 article, but it had benefited from the input and editing of others. Now, should I bother an admin to get this mistake fixed, or should I just just leave well enough alone with this mea culpa as the permanent record of my folly? Kevintoronto 23:41, 3 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Hmm ... I think I might have just made things worse. My plan was to take the 2004 page back to its original setting (ie. "2004 OPClc"), delete the "OPClc, 2004" page, and then move the page properly. Instead, it now appears that I accidentally deleted the extensive page history from *both* the main page and the redirect, something which I didn't think was possible.
I'm currently trying to re-establish the information, though I'm starting to wonder if it might be best just to let this alone ... CJCurrie 00:11, 4 Feb 2005 (UTC)
And, to make things even more confusing, it now looks as though the current page history for "OPClc, 2004" (consisting entirely of recent changes by myself and Kevin) is actually a glitch in the system. This presumably means one of two things: (i) the proper page history will reappear in a few minutes, and the matter will be solved, or (ii) I've discovered a new problem that I don't know how to fix.
I'm going to wait for a bit before doing anything else. In the event that I've permanently damaged the page history in question, I offer a blanket apology to everyone who contributed. CJCurrie 00:17, 4 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Woo-hoo! The glitch fixed itself! The page history is back, and on the "OPClc, 2004" page to boot! My plan worked! I'm a genius! (okay, okay, I'll stop ...)
I'll do the same trick on the other pages shortly. Note that there could be a similar delay in the page history returning. CJCurrie 00:46, 4 Feb 2005 (UTC)
