- Not to be confused with Band geeks, a SpongeBob SquarePants episode article that was recently on VfD and was deleted
I don't think it's terribly notable. - Ta bu shi da yu 14:46, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Neutral - also appears in the American Pie 2 movie. -- Graham ☺ | Talk 12:40, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. Needs cleanup. Geek culture is notable. Mikkalai 20:07, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. It seems to say no more than that a "band geek" is a schoolkid who's keen on playing in a band. There's no promise of anything more, either. So it's a dictionary entry; and it's not even an interesting one as (thanks to the recent popularity of "geek" to mean "enthusiast") its meaning could always be guessed from the context. (Am I a "deletion geek"? And no, please don't write an entry for that.) Hoary 22:07, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. maybe merge parts into articles about marching band and/or geek culture? clara 23:49, Nov 13, 2004 (UTC)
- Delete This just seems to go nowhere as Hoary pointed out. Mceder 23:52, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- This just seems that all of you pretend that your ignorance is the last word of knowledge. Geeks and groupies are noticeable part of society. Mikkalai 00:12, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
This article will live until you snobs write an article about school bands. In this case the article may be safely merged there and redirected. Mikkalai 00:17, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Delete: It has gone from copyvio to original research. Geogre 01:26, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Oh my, where do you see research there? Mikkalai 04:09, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. Band geeks are an odd subculture, to be sure, but not strong enough to be notable. Most of the more common High school subcultures link to articles that are not specific to the high-school-age portion of their subculture (e.g. "ravers"), or a link to a disambiguation article (e.g. "jock"). --Idont havaname 01:46, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Not notable? The very fact that you and I and many others all over the USA recognize the thing makes it notable. Do 28,500 google hits for the term say something to you? Mikkalai 04:12, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Extremely strong keep. It has become a very interesting article and it is a word often used in high schools in the United States, particularly in the bands. I was in a high school band, so I have experience with this word. Also, band geeks should be redirected to this article. Academic Challenger 05:03, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Weak keep. There are articles on plethoras of other youth subcultures, so it would be inconsistent to exclude this one. It'll need work though, to make it something more than what you would find in the articles Band and Geek. Fishal 06:40, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. Promising snapshot of a common microsocial identity. Would be of sufficient interest to a future social historian or a current hypothetical extraterrestrial anthropologist or sociologist studying Earth youth, music culture, etc. Samaritan 08:47, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. We already have articles on goths, punks, etc. Band geeks are similar. --Improv 15:37, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Keep with cleanup —siroχo 18:36, Nov 14, 2004 (UTC)
- Abstain. I have no knowledge as to how valid the term is. The topic does however, appear quite quite silly. zoney ♣ talk 20:20, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)

- Delete. Wikipedia is not a forum for pontification on subcultural phenomena. Jeeves 19:51, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Why don't you convert the pontinification periceived by you into a neutral, informational article?Mikkalai
- Provide us with external sources, and we'll do this! Until then it seems to be original research. - Ta bu shi da yu 04:13, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)

- Week keep, mainly because I've heard the term on a fairly regular basis elsewhere. --Goobergunch 21:48, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. Agree with the above. Vacuum | tcw 21:54, Nov 18, 2004 (UTC)
